Norman's Cay anchorage gets pretty crowded during the winter season. It
is
recommended to anchor Bahamian style, whereby to anchors are used at the bow
pointing in each direction of the strong current, avoiding a large radius
swing. This
anchorage is known
for it's infamous history of a drug cartel boss living here in a
mutli-building
compound, and a DC-3 that was shot down by U.S. law-enforcement
agents while on a
drug run. The abandoned compound and DC-3 still remains but
in a dilapidated state.
